I don’t like the dad I’m this version so far. He appeared a warm, benevolent figure in the original, worshipped by his daughters. Now….he’s kind of an ass.

Military means something different now than it does back then but so does all the house work falling squarely onto the woman. he never offers to help, despite having no injuries? And he has no interest in Meg’s life is just…sad
