I don't agree that this is his masterpiece. I really don't. I'm struggling. I'm really struggling. Is it over yet? Can it be over? Can I stop?

I loved Crime and Punishment. This is struggling to keep my interest. It feels messy and repetitive, often nihilistic. Considering everyone loves it, even Camus has had so much to say about it; interjecting Ivan into so many works...I hope my mind changes. Perhaps I need to think of it with the absurd in mind as Camus, dichotomize this with his philosophy, it might make it easier. As is, it's simply contrary.

Crime and Punishment was brilliant. This is struggling to hold my interest. I love a dialogue piece, philosophical banter. This feels messy and repetitive. Perhaps it's also not hitting the mark as it's a Catholic piece; it's hard to stomach the almost nihilistic idea of a lack of human good. The point is that ignorance is bliss, and I get it. My faculty is joy. Culturally appropriate period piece. Not relatable.
