I finished my book the pledge. Around the end cortland found out that her boyfriend had been sleeping with her aunt the whole time they where dating. Then her aunt got pregnant by allen and when she told allen, he almost beat her to death and she was in the ICU. It ended up that allen got charged with beating her and raping the girl at the party.
