SUPPORTING CHARACTERS: Tel Hesani is Jebel's slave, and or companion on his journey. Tel Hesani provides wisdom for Jebel, and teaches him about the world, as well as opening up his point of view. He is a good influence on Jebel and provides much wisdom to the story. He provides another perspective. Tel Hesani has also saved Jebel's life multiple times by recommending new ideas (being more forgiving or calm.)

THE CLIMAX: The climax of "The Thin Executioner" is when Jebel and Tel Hesani finally reach Tubaygat. The inciting incident is Jebel being dishonored and deciding to quest to regain his honor. Throughout the whole story we are working up to that climax, it is a goal for the main characters. After they reach Tubaygat the book starts to end with falling action.

INCITING INCIDENT: Jebel Rum is the son of an executioner, being executioner is a career full of honor. Jebels father is carrying out an execution when he announces his retirement, but his father does not mention him when he is speaking of his successors. This was a great dishonor to Jebel, especially when it was in front of so many people. This incident makes Jebel quest to Tubaygat.

STORY ARCHETYPE: The two main story archetypes is the quest, and rebirth. We can see Jebel in the beginning being selfish, inconsiderate, and stubborn. He eventually goes on a quest for a selfish reason. He and his companion face many enemies and obstacles. Over this period we can see him grow as a person. He starts becoming considerate of other people. In the end, when he returns from his quest he's a new person.

VISUALIZE: When reading "The Thin Executioner" I can imagine characters faces, I can imagine the diverse and exciting (sometimes scary) medieval towns, I can visualize and smell and hear all of these settings. For example, chapter nine pages 85 and 86 when Jebel and Tel Hesani came upon a new kingdom. We could really imagine being there and seeing violence, feeling the unsureness of our characters.

MAKING CONNECTIONS: My exact first thought when reading "The Thin Executioner", was relating it to a TV show named "Disenchantment". They do not have the same plot at all, I just imagine them being in a similar setting. I can relate to Jebel and his desire to make his father proud. I can also relate to him not being the most confident in his physique.
