In this part of the book, Heat interrogated the top suspect of the case. The suspect was trying to intimidate Heat, and it worked. Nikki Heat has never been scared by a suspect, so she isn't quite sure what is happening.

This book reminds me to be thankful for every day that I am a part of. The main character, Nikki Heat, is a homicide detective. She has to be in dangerous situations every day. The next day, hour, or minute is never guaranteed in her life.

A conflict in my book is that the main character, Nikki Heat, is having a very hard time trying to figure out a murder investigation. She is the head detective, but a writer that she might like is distracting her. She doesn't know what to feel about this writer.
