Jayson is on page 43 of 158

Notes:
(1) This has been sort of like reading one of those Christmas or Halloween anthologies DC puts out.
- I don't know if it works as well though because the superhero origins more or less get glossed over: a highlight reel of sorts. With the usual anthologies you at least have complete stories, and don't have to waste a bunch of pages breezing over familiar/known parts.

Notes:
(1) The best story of issue #4 is the Robin origin. Mostly to do with the art since it's yet another highlight reel retelling that doesn't go into any real detail.
- It is unique that it uses Alfred's communications with both Damian and Dick as a vehicle for the narration.
(2) The Harley story is pretty much the Villain's Month retcon, just slightly less problematic.

Notes:
(1) The art isn't as standout with issue #3, which is expected. It's usually the first issue or two that get the bigger names to try and hook readers.
(2) The Batwoman story was disappointing. Like issue #2's Batman story, it's pure highlight reel and doesn't offer anything new apart from the art style.
(3) The Red Robin story's an all new origin, just badly written.

Notes:
(1) Shockingly, the best story in the second issue is from Scott Lobdell.
- Though, a lot of the reason for its success is because of Paulo Siqueira's art, which lends the story a lot of weight and majesty.
(2) The Batman origin is the most disappointing. It's just the same familiar story retold.
- The only difference is you get to see it through Dustin Nguyen's art.

Notes:
(1) Winding down my New 52 journey, I've only a handful of books left to read. I've divided them into essential and optional books. This is an optional one.
- Do I need to read an anthology series of just origin stories? Of course not. But while many of these stories are reprinted elsewhere, including books I've read, some aren't. So this is my only way to read them.
