The theme in this book I think is friendship because she is always asking herself if this person is my friend, or if she wants to be their friend. When she first arrived she had no friends and let people meet her instead of meeting people by herself. Is this case she meet jessica, angela, eric, and mike. I also think that she wanted to only be best friends with jacob but he took it the wrong way then intended.
