The chances of me finishing this book today are getting slimmer and slimmer. It’s hard to read when you are constantly rolling your eyes at clunky dialogue and contrived plot

A little heavy on the world building in the first chapter and a little clunky with the inciting incident. I also feel a hint of purple prose creeping in. We press on. I’ve heard good things.
