The fact that he, with as little engineering background as he had, it shows that design can lead you in a good direction. And so phenomenal products came out of it."

Steve Jobs was known for his high standards of design which he enforced across all products at Apple. He believed that making a product easy-to-use would make users more satisfied with their purchase because they could then use the product without reservation on almost any occasion

"He learned a lot of marketing principles because he wasn't really capable, engineering wise, you know, computer hardware [and] software," Wozniak says of Jobs. "He had to find other areas to make himself important."

But Wozniak tells CNBC Make It that his partner wasn't always a marketing and communications guru – those were skills Jobs had to develop to compensate for not being a particularly skilled computer engineer.
