It seems as though Mars has been seen as an escape from everything on earth. Conflict has arisen when people try to bring the rules of earth to Mars. Strange conflict.

Supposedly on earth all forms of art were banned. That mentality is now shifting to Mars...

Mars is full of people now. People who were running away from something or looking for something. Now it seems all the blacks are going to Mars.

Earth ditched sending expeditions to Mars anymore. Now there are full on settlers. Earth cities are beginning to pop up on Mars. It's interesting to see hoe the more humans interact with Mars, the less Martians there are to the point of them being just a memory with their dead cities vacant of life everywhere.

The crew eventually hunted him down and killed him. But not after he had a dialog with the captain of the crew. He convinced the captain that he was just like the murderer. Eventually the murderer crew member is killed, but it is implied that the captain finishes the job the original crew member started.

One of the crew members of ex. 4 ran off. He studied and learned the Martian culture and language in a week. He felt that them exploring Mars will eventually bring all the wars, disagreements, and ideas of humanity to Mars. He eventually starts killing each of the crew members one at a time claiming HE is the last Martian.

The book has now progressed to the 4th expedition. It's strange reading about one crew after another and how they all eventually perish in the end. The Martian chronicles does a good job setting up an unsettling mood.

I see how this book is formatted at this point. It's written about each expedition. The first mysteriously broke contact with earth. The second is the first one you read about. Now I'm on the third. It's weird. Martians use telepathy to recreate lost family members and their homes of the crew members. Then all the crew are killed in the night.

Wow that took an unexpected turn! The crew of men were mistaken for insane Martians. They were sent to an asylum. In an effort to convince a Martian that they were from earth, they show one their ship. After an unexpected turn of events, they all end up dead.

The story with ylla has strangely ended. It seemed cut short. Maybe this book has no central character that you follow through the story. The book has moved on to describe a crew of earth men who landed on Mars.

Ylla has been having dreams. Her husband has been reacting to them almost as strangely as she has been. Interesting beginning. I excited to read on...
