The theme of my book is survival. Leisel has to survive during World War 2. She has to hide from the Nazis.

The personality of the main character contributes to her persistence. She isn't the best reader but she keeps practicing a finally she reads a whole book by her self.

The author explains each day as if it were a color, so I think that he's trying to say that each day is different. Some are dark and murky and others are bright and vibrant.
