Shannara is a simple pleasure. And one I personally really love. I could complain about how it doesn't really live up to many of the best in the genre, but why would I? It has more than made its name as a staple genre favourite, and I love Shannara in all its lightweight glory as much as I do the heavyweight genre champions.

No it's not a classic for the ages. However, it's another enjoyable Shannara book, and that's enough for me!
