I am comparing how Jonas was in the beginning of the book to how he is now. In the beginning he was very different, he didn't know as much about the community and what it really was like and he was just like everyone else but now that he is the receiver he knows so much more and acts different. For example, he now knows what it really means to be released-you were actually killed instead of actually released.
