In this part of the book, it talks about how Small Sam is suspicious about the sounds outside, but Rhiannon tells him that it's either just rats or a cat looking for rats. This is like when a little kid in real life is scared of shadows and their parents tell them that it is just a tree or their family pet, and that their imagination is just getting the best of them.

In The Enemy, I would say that the anti-hero is Blue, because even though he is fighting with his allies against one common enemy, he still doesn't trust anyone, and says that no one will ever be able to control or organize him.
