also i love mixing up gendered titles 'n all like a woman using masc titles but i do have some bones to pick with j kristoff writing the only character who does that so far (lady vampire calling herself a 'prince of forever') to be a literally inhuman hyper-evil vampire. eugh.

ALSO this book is just unbearably painfully edgy and shallow. like as a lover of d&d clerics i enjoy a good struggle with faith but so far it seems like that stuff only exists in this book so it can fail at the most inopportune moment and gabriel can wangst poetic about how god sucks and he's So Cool And Jaded for not believing. it's highly grating.
