Which translation are you reading? Is it this specific book (based on the cover image)? I have a beautiful hardcover that was gifted to me and I enjoy it but the translation is a bit flat.

Yes the translator is Richard Freeborn, so far I find it flat. I found the Constance Garnet audiobook version on Scribd and I am thinking of switching to audio
