So far in the book I am reading, the author has talked about Eddie Aikau's background in surfing and him as a person. They have also talked about the Australians coming and the natives to Hawaii being angry about the Australians show boating. I predict that the author will talk about Eddie winning a big competition or having a near death expierience.

Eddie Aikou has made many accomplishments. Because of this has a surf contest named after him. The surf contest is held at waimea bay. The contest is only ran when the waves are at least twenty five feet. That rule says so much about him as a lifeguard, a surfer, and even a just a person.

Eddie Aikou has been dead for many years. He was on a boat to go to Tahiti. The boat was in a big storm. Then it started to sink. After Eddie, the lifeguard, saved many of the sailers lives, he tried to paddle all the way to Tahiti on a surf board. He was never seen again.

Since I just started this new book, I have not really read very much to respond to. Because I haven't read much of the book yet, I am confused on what is going on. He is switching between him being on a boat and him interviewing Kelly Slater. I'm am quite confused so far.
