Louis Zamperini changed a lot throughout the book. He started out smoking, drinking, and stealing. He wanted attention but he didn't get it in the way he wanted it so he did bad and stupid stuff. Then we he started to run and started to win the track meets he finally got the attention he wanted, he was popular. He changed from doing bad to doing good. This book gave me a better understanding that people can change.

Louie Zamperini was a really strong person. He started from being a delinquent to be a person who survives concentration camps, being tortured. He survived a crash, and stranded ocean. He was tortured by a harsh man. He had survived multiple days without food or water. His family had to deal with him being died/missing. Louie survived a lot in his life. After all of that he still was very strong and he never gave up.

Louie and his crew were getting along. They were by far one of the best. Until Japan bombed American's air force site, and most of his crew got injured and one of them died. Therefore Louie had new people added in his crew. Also they got a new plane, they crashed and landed in the ocean. Only 3 survived during the crash. So the 3 rafted towards west hoping for some one to come and rescued them. One died, only two left

Louie had his mind on the olympics in Berlin. He qualified and he was on his way to the olympics. It was a torture, the weather was extremely hot and it was hard to practice on the boat, etc. When he came back to America his family was very proud of him. Not long, World War II came and Louie went into the air force. He had to leave his family and he went to Hawaii and his journey begins. Pete also joined the army.

Louie would always get into trouble. It was because he craved attention but he never won it in the form of praise. His brother Pete convinced the principal to allow louie to join a sport. Track was louie's sport. By that time Pete was all over Louie, forcing him to train for track. Louie hated running. As Pete started to train louie more he started to win.Soon he gave up on drinking and smoking and all he did was run
