Chapter Three:
(1) Greedy landlord storylines are so cliché.
(2) The Joker scenes are most notable for featuring a lot of color, or at least relative to the monochrome palette of the rest of the book.
- Red-colored skies in Joker scenes are definitely a thing.
- Presumably, it's meant to signal how Harley's in a different world when Joker's around, to underscore the appeal.

Chapter Nine:
(1) I do enjoy a good Easter egg. In this case, the word "pudding."
- Though, like many things in this book, it's overused ad nauseum.
(2) The iPod analogue here is "iRod."
- Not the best. Frankly, I see "iRod," and I think of Ivan Rodriguez of the Texas Rangers.
(3) Best scene in the book is Ivy's bedroom full of plants. The only image of her that's on brand.

Chapter Eight:
(1) This chapter is so "Scooby Doo." As in "Scooby Doo," there's hardly any surprise who's under the mask at the end.
- I mean, it has to be someone who's been introduced in the story, and with the cast of characters so limited, there usually is only one choice.
(2) There's a lot of color in this chapter! The lack of transition from monochrome overwhelms you.

Chapters Five to Seven:
(1) These are total filler! One chapter about a protest, sandwiched between two chapters where Harley meets the Joker.
(2) Ivy, for seemingly no reason or pertinence to the plot, accuses the principal of racism.
- Sure, he was being kind of racist, though, narratively speaking, only so she can complain that he was. There's no other impact or purpose.

Chapter Four:
(1) It's a bit screwy that we're meant to cheer a loudmouth drag queen causing a ruckus, who scolds a mother for asking him to keep it down while her kids have ice cream.
(2) Finally, we Ivy doing something vaguely Poison Ivy-ish! Gardening!
- Though, in that section, the gardening is merely the backdrop for a tirade about evil landlords and possible eviction.

Chapter Two:
(1) Harley comes from the small town of Putthole... which sounds like butthole. I get it.
- I would have appreciated a more clever pun.
(2) So far, the book has shown a critical lack of plot.
- It's all been either mundane high school pabulum, or using characters as puppets for conveying not-very-deep political and social talking points.
(3) I want some nuance!

Chapter One:
(1) The only other DC YA comic I've read was "Supergirl: Being Super." That was originally a miniseries, recolored and repackaged for their YA line.
- Having it recolored is interesting. It features the same monochrome blue and red as this.
- Must be a color directive at DC for their YA stuff.
(2) Everything Harley finds super-cool about Ivy, I find irritating.
