So the Award winners got announced.
I'm a fantasy fan, so I looked at that one category, but I assume this isn't unique.
How is it that 5 of the first 8 books have votes either equal to or more than the number of ratings they have???
Babel by R.F. Kuang has more than TWICE the amount of votes, compared to ratings.

So this is supposed to be normal? I don't know what would be worse, people voting without reading the book because of politics/the identity of the author/virtue signalling.... or publishers doing this.

Yeah, it's pretty normal. Another thing is that now Goodreads team themselves "nominate" all the books, and a lot of the "Book of the Month" bookcrate make it, no matter how questionable it's rating or the number of ratings are
