I chose this book because I needed something to read. First I went to check for books. If I thought it looked interesting I would read the caption in the front and if I liked that i read the first page to see if I liked that. For this book I did so I decided to read it and so far it is a really good book.

One characteristic that Syd has that contributes is his sarcasm. If he didn't have sarcasm then they couldn't have whole scenes where they talk. They also couldn't have met the horse rider so they could escape the city( Chapter 32).Another characteristic her has is that he is brave if he wasn't brave Marie would have been dead and they would have been heading back to the city and the book would be over(Chapter 33).
