Since, at 20%, nothing much has happened with the MCs (although they've already had sex) and I still feel there is a whole cast of characters I should be familiar with, I did some digging and found out this series is a follow up to The Bookworm’s Guide.

The books in this series are supposed to be stand-alones. I don't consider this the case.

I'll sample the author's elsewhere and see if I'll come back to this one.

Right from the beginning I felt lost: thrown into an ongoing story, without having been presented enough background or context. Several characters, places and relationships were mentioned casually in conversations as if I'm supposed to know them.
