As usual in Kinsey Millhone mysteries, which I've been reading in order, I was quickly drawn into the mystery of what happened to her first husband. It was good to get some backstory on her marriage, and now that we have one body already plus an attempted murder, the game is afoot.

The plot thickens as Kinsey returns from a trip to Louisville where she uncovers all sorts of new information that ties together several of the characters to Mickey in ways not known before. Also she realizes that there are actually two different, and possibly unrelated, crimes going on here. Compared to the N book, I haven't noticed any plot holes.

Great to see Kinsey doing lots of actual detective work, following one clue to another [sometimes several]. But it looks like there may be more crimes to uncover than the original murder.
