This was a slow read for me. This book was full of information regarding sugar cane farming but lacked depth when it came to the characters portrayed in the book. The relationships were choppy, disjointed and seemed to be less of the focus; whereas cane farming seemed more important. I will definitely give this author another try but if it starts slow again I will stop reading.
