This book doesn't really get going until about page 200. And it comes to a screeching halt around page 260. I am so frustrated with this book- it is like watching wrestling. Something happens (usually talking), and then all the characters go around telling each other about it and as a reader you are like "I KNOW ALREADY. STOP TELLING ME."

Ok, it was bugging me that the teenaged characters kept saying things were "legit". I figured (hoped) the author was just creating his own slang. But no, now that the 7 year old has come out of her coma, she keeps saying things are "totally awesome". Maybe this book is historical fiction that is set in 1986, or perhaps the little girl was in a coma for 25 years? Maybe the characters are using this outdated slang ironically and I am missing the nuance?
