You have to have a reason. For the parents, and for the rest of us. Just say it: I'm avenging my father's disgrace. We need the oil. God told me to. Something. Just so it's believed.

Guys like you and me, we take discomfort til it's pain, we put up with inconvenience til it's disaster, and then we're cool, the worst has happened, like we always knew it would.

You see, I'm not gonna explain myself to God. He's gonna have to explain Himself to me. And I guarantee you at the end of it, if He exists at all, He's gonna say "get your ass in here, you're my kind of dude."
