Just checking in since this is a library book and I can't dog ear or underline..
so far, so bad. Uses weird words and phrases like "daddy" and "hit up the restaurant." I don't necessarily mind bad writing, but the characters are so undeveloped. Is that because everybody is depressed and their personality has dulled? That's the only understandable explanation. Even so, it's not like the protagonist mentions being sad

Words like aplomb and meaningful references to Beauvoir are ruined by writing like "o shit," "dissipated like a fart," and "all-time weirdest." Like somebody's sad autofictive senior thesis. Sorry!
