I finished! This book always had me on the edge of my seat, and I was truly surprised and saddened by the state that Adeline was in and the situations that she had to deal with. I really enjoyed this book, I could understand it, and it really allowed me to understand Chinese culture in this time period.

Since my last update, I was not sure where this book is going, and if I truly enjoyed it. I am now really into it, and I am trying to relate to Adeline, and her struggles. As hard as I try, she is going through crazy stuff! I can not believe the way her family treats her, and they are so easy to leave her and forget about her. I am still reading, and I am very intrigued.

I am really enjoying this book. It is very interesting and I am learning a lot about the Chinese culture and ways of a normal Chinese family life. Though, I'm not sure if I like the relationships that formed between Adeline and her family members.
