SETTING: "The Ship We Built" takes place in a small town. In this town the main character, Rowan, goes to different places; places like his school, his house, trails, his friends houses, etc. As a reader we get an interesting perspective, what were reading are Rowans letters. These letters are attached to a balloon and sent flying away. I really like this perspective and setting.

CONFLICT: Rowan is the main character of this story, he faces a lot of conflict in this story. The main conflict in this story is Rowan verse himself. He is struggling with many emotions, and people telling him hes not free to be who he wants. This makes him confused and dislike himself, thus the conflict. Conflict can mean many things but the type Rowan faces, I'd say is one of the most challenging ones.

POV: "The Ship We Built" is a 1st person narrated story. The story revolves around a trans boy names Rowan Beck. The viewer reads the letters he writes. Its actually a very interesting way to tell a story. We can read Rowans thoughts feelings, and things that happen to him. He uses "I" and "me", which keys into the 1st person narration.
