Disappointed so far. This is fun, but what really made the first book work was not just the the deliciously colorful language and assorted oddity, but the way those elements were contrapuntal to the melancholy setting on a far future dying earth. This? So far, just a frothy adventure. Nothing outré. There's no terrifying Chun the Unavoidable here, no Magnatz. Hope it picks up in the second half.
