What I find most helpful in this book is the notes. I'd like to read several others to get other angles; this one sometimes echoes in style Stephen Mitchell's translation of the Tao tec Ching. That's not a bad thing to my view, but I'm curious about other, equally sincere interpretations. The notes are very worthwhile, and the introduction is a lovely, accessible read.
