Carrie's problem is at school she is being bullied really badly. Part of the reason she can try to fix is that she can change the way she looks so she should work to change that, she would feel a little better then. At school she could try to act differently than right now. She could be a little more outgoing then sit in the corner and not say anything.

I've seen the movie for Carrie before I started reading the book but from the book I think what Carrie is trying to accomplish is fitting in at cool so she won't be bullied and the outcast like she has for years. I know that because there was almost a whole chapter about how she has been bullied for years and how much she hates it. So I think that is a pretty big hint of what she wants to accomplish.

I just started this book but as this story is going on you can tell this is a point of view from a different student that watched what was happening to Carrie. The more I get into the book I'm starting to see how Carrie originally was in the book not in the movie by the way she reacts and body posture of events.
