I think that the author tries to make the book sound realistic by imitating and trying to reenact a baseball game as best as he can. He does a great job of making the book sound really realistic as he can by using real live crises that happen in our everyday lives.

I think that when Diane and Josh's dad get together, and his mom and dad get divorced, Josh will be extremely mad and angry because he doesn't want his life to change, and having to pick between the two parents to live with.
