She thinks that he doesn't like her but is uncertain. As much as Mrs.Bennet tries to delay both of the girls coming back home, they both insist. Elizabeth stays over at Mr.Bingley's place to look after Jane. Elizabeth tells her mum to come and visit Jane. When Mrs.Bennet and two of her younger daughters arrived , Someone mentioned Mr.Bingley moving out of the area for awhile. They then discussed the difference between the urban and rural area; that there is nothing different. To that Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth each throw opinions at each other again.

While the plan of Mrs.Bennet works out, Elizabeth gets sick worried because of Jane whom is sick over at Mr.Bingley's house. Elizabeth visits her sister and has a little chat with Mr.Bingley, his sister and Mr.Darcy. Mr.Darcy talks about what an ideal characteristics a women must posses to be within the standard. Elizabeth strongly objects that.

Mr.Darcy shows attitude towards Elizabeth, in which he portrays his ignorance towards not only that but looks down to her and think grandiloquently of himself. Although after a few pages he is secretly convinced that she's not like other girls and asks her for a dance.

The gentleman have arrived to Neatherfield and invited the Bennetts over for the party. The gentleman (Mr Bingley) was extremely polite and outgoing meanwhile Mr Darcy his company was arrogant. This caught the attention of Mrs Bennet. By far this shows a lot of social status that women had to meet in those days.

Everybody in town is getting hyped up about the new rich acquaintance that is coming. Especially Mrs Bennet who is trying to match her daughters with any gentlemen with a good social class.
