Unfortunately, no continuing for me. There’s just too many mistakes and lapses in character POV and so on that the immersion is broken. So is any interest.

“high fantasy” but also “nope!”

Ah the good old exposition told through dialogue in an awkward, unnatural way :D

We’ve officially gotten quite a few paragraphs into the book and I’m reading the same thing over and over again - the author has already established there is a quest, there is a king, and the king doesn’t like the old lady very much.

I promise I’m not trying to be a stickler about grammar it’s just genuinely throwing me from the book; the passive voice is pretty bad. There’s a lot of “had greeted” or “had spoken” and whatnot; this is probably what’s contributing to the sentence structure issue.

If they say glared one more time I’m going to throw the book.

Three paragraphs in and I’m a little put off by the sentence structure; it feels a little stiff and doesn’t alternate in length so each sentence feels a bit jarring.

“This is not one of those stories”

This is usually something that would make me excited for a story, but the statement comes after a list of the best kinds of stories - high stakes, dark, explorative of not just philosophy but morality. So, admittedly, I’m a little nervous.

Also - don’t preface your stories with a statement like this!! Don’t do it!! It feels amateur!!
