Look, I get that Cleolinda needs to snark at something, and I get that to many of historians ahistorical narratives set in a historical context are frustrating -- goodness knows I complain about that a lot. But given how readily available the historical facts re: Roman history are, I think it's safe to say that "Gladiator" was a historical fantasy a la Guy Gavriel Kay's work. NOT TO BE TAKEN AS HISTORY.
