Just finished Bilko chapter and so far, he's the saddest one I've read. Not because he turned evil/dark but because he humiliated himself by his hubris. Then again, I'm not done soooo

As I'm reading this, I wonder how the author knows the inside workings of the people he writes about.
For instans Chapter Bilko "Bilko..practicing his speeches and sound bites in front of the mirror at home... till he was able to pitch the perfect combination of verbal and non-verbal queues." LOC 1245. I does the author know that? Was the author in the same room as Bilko? That kind of writing is everywhere.

Very interesting beginning.
