Suspense is when you think something bad is going to happen. In my book Eragon the author makes it seem like the main character is going to die when he is captured, but he lives.

My book Eragon is told from a third person point of view so we can feel and get a good image what his soundings are and his actions more descriptively, here is a line from the text that supports my answer "Eragon knelt in a bed of trampled tree grass and scanned the tracks with a practiced eye".

The Protagonist in my book is a boy who discovers a dragon and has to defeat an evil tyrant by becoming a dragon rider. The antagonist is a tyrant who killed all the dragon riders because he was power hungry. The protagonist helps develop the plot because you don't know whether he will be come a rider and defeat the king or if he will die.
