i don't know if anyone else is facing this problem, but GR simply refuses to keep me signed in. whether it be clicking on a book on my feed, refreshing a tab, or posting a review, 9 times out of 10 the system logs me out. leave me be please - i've had to login more this past week than i've had to during my account's entire existence 😭

Cyndi You are not alone. Nearly every time I refresh or try to look at my notifications, it kicks me out. And I hate the new layout with so much passion.

alyssa @Cyndi - Ugh I’m glad the problem isn’t specific to my computer since I only got it fixed a few months ago, but what an absolute nightmare it’s been 😩 I’ve resorted to the mobile app for casual scrolling, but since I don’t get notifications on statuses I’ve commented on via the app, I have to manually scroll back to check. Is the trade off worth it? Not for much longer, my patience can only take so much. Hopefully it’s fixed for the both of us soon because this is ridiculous 💀

Ash🍉 I haven’t had that issue at all :o have you tried clearing the cache on your laptop? I use the mobile app mostly but it is a pain not to have the notifications for reply’s, I have to go onto my laptop every few days and check the comments I’ve left to see if there’s replies 😂

Nope, definitely not just you. I've seen other complaints about it too. It sucks when something you usually enjoy becomes a test of patience instead.😡

alyssa @Ash - I didn't clear the entire cache, but I went in to delete the Goodreads specific cookies this morning. Maybe they were just corrupted so fingers crossed it works! I've always wondered why the mobile app doesn't automatically notify us - it doesn't make sense not to because obviously we commented to have a convo?? 🤔 In the meantime, yes, the manual comment checking has become a ritual 😂

alyssa @Cyndi - Oof probably was a bug that came with the new update then. And 100%, I can forgive GR's outdated features but this is a real pain 😤 I did try going to "All cookies and site data" within my browser, searched for "Goodreads," and removed everything shown before logging back in. Since it's worked for the past half hour or so, I'm hoping it's a permanent solution 🙏🏼

Elisa Glendenning (mostly off-line) Luckily I haven’t had that particular issue - I just keep getting thrown back to the beginning of my feed all the time. This new design is pissing me right off (pardon my French)!!!

alyssa @Elisa - I wouldn't wish it even on my worst enemy! Ugh I hear you on that: sometimes my feed stops loading on me, and there's no choice but to refresh back to the top. I had to limit my feed to friends' book updates only so it doesn't get as overwhelming. Now when will GR focus on updates that users are actually asking for? 🧐
