i read the BEST chapter in the book today, my lord. i got chills.

this book is so sad but so powerful. it’s giving the same political undertones as the jungle in a way in terms of discussing workers rights, but written so much better

only read a few pages today and then passed out. i’m going to definitely read a lot more this weekend though

i was falling asleep while reading the last few pages tonight but still getting even better. i also found out that mrs. teczon read this book and really liked it, so that’s cool to know

The book is getting a lot more interesting now, and I’m actually looking forward to finishing it

The ending of this better be good because the pace is definitely quite slow

Very descriptive imagery, but it still hasn’t clicked with me yet

I have concluded that John Steinbeck LOVES to talk about nature. Maybe I’m impatient right now, but I would prefer if he just got more to the point sometimes. The font size doesn’t help either.

This was mentioned in the book I read today so I thought that I might as well finally read it. The setting is really detailed, and I wonder what kind of book this is going to be still. It’s intimidating how long this book is compared to the books I’ve been reading recently too, but hopefully I’ll manage
