My favorite part of the book so far would probably be the part when we hear an outbursts from Pete, the shell of a man who sits around, slouched over in the corner of the Ward . It's during a meeting of sorts, with Nurse Ratched talking about random things and the new ward admission. Pete says he's tired, and a black man comes to take him to the Ward. The man starts abusing Pete, and Pete gets up and knocks him out.

it's just hit me that maybe McMurphy isn't as great as we think. this whole story is told from Bromdens PoV, and everything we read is Bromdens perception of McMurphy. We know bromden has had a lot of trouble in his life, usually from higher forces like the government. To him, McMurphy can simply be the embodiment of standing up to authority, so he might be "fangirling" and exaggerating mcmurphys greatness

The book has definetly escalated to the climax, with McMurphy trying to get the best of the big nurse. The book is so much easier to read now, because I understand which character is which and I've gotten to know the narrator, chief bromden. McMurphy is on the verge of being sent to disturbed, so the tension is rising. I'll get back to you when the climax passes and we roll into falling action.

My friend, who is really into philosophical stuff and ethical debate, told me that this book was a challenge, but worth the read. I wanted to try something different from the graphic novels I have been reading for the past 2 years. The book is definetly living up to my expectations, and it's definetly interesting as it's told from the vivid point of view of a mental patient.
