One of my least favorite things that Jim Butcher does in these books is use the word "rumbled" as a dialogue attribution tag. Burly dudes seriously be rumbling something every other page.

I've been reading a series I really like except that the author constantly references a particular character's "horsey/equine/elongated" teeth. It's a translation, so maybe that plays into it, but it's just obnoxious.
