At this point, Percy has found out that the gate to the underworld is in LA, so he has been traveling by bus and train to get there. He has been attacked by a lot of things on his way including a Chimera, and hellhound. So far, Percy has shown great amounts of trust. An example of this is when he jumps off a bridge, 100 feet in the air, and depends on his dad, the water God, to save him when he lands in the water.

I have finally finished the book and it was amazing. Percy found out that the God of war, Ares, actually stole the Lightning rod, and Percy single-handedly defeated Ares and gave the Lightning back to its rightful owner, Zeus. A major conflict in the book is that Zeus blamed Poseidon for stealing the Lightning, but Poseidon was really innocent all along. Also, Ares planned the conflict to happen from the very start.

So far, Percy has had a wild time at the camp. He has found out that he is the son of Poseidon, and has been told to leave the camp on the quest in a week, or be killed. Some thoughtful questions I have about the plot right now are, Why did he want a quest instead of just being killed because quests ensure death at the end?, Why do they need to kill him in the first place?, and Why did Poseidon never talk to Percy?

So far in the book, Percy has just found out that he is a half blood and that there are tons of creature currently after him. Also, he has been taken to a camp called camp half blood because this is the only safe place for him that still remains. My opinion on what has happened so far is that I am very concerned for Percy. This is because many things have tried to kill him and he watched his own mom get slautered.
