The imagery continues, but now we are introduced to at least twenty new characters. There is a vote between Ralph and Jack for leader and Ralph wins. This will probably cause some unruliness between the group later in the story. I still really like it.

I am still enjoying the book. However this book uses a lot of words I've never heard of. For example the crimson is a shade of red, officious means authoritative, and ebullience means very cheerful and energized. I'm not sure if these words and lost meaning since 1954 or if I've just never heard them before.

To start I really like the book so far! The main the thing I take out of it so far is how well Golding is able to use imagery in his writing. For example, on page 13 he explains every little detail about the lagoon including the colors, the temperature, the density, and everything else in order to make me see exactly what he sees. -Peadar McGratg
