Well, I was almost right - he sort of did bring it to a hurried conclusion, but then added a wrinkle at the very end to extend it. That was really dumb, by the way. Learning someone else is from Earth is fine, but that was a stupid way to reveal it. I'm not really looking forward to what will happen, because it'll probably be jam packed with cringey references.
Some parts of the book were alright, some boring.

This God of the Purge has been an ongoing minor subplot for a number of books now. Are they going to wrap it up in this last 8%? Knowing this author, that is entirely possible, since he just rushes everything. But it could just do more setup and leave it until next book. I'm betting the latter, because it'd be a bit too much to rush at this point.
The latter half of this book has been pretty boring.

All four women are pregnant now? So much for any sense of moderation. Stupid. Not to mention that three out of those four pregnancies were all announced within this one book. I'd say this feels like the author wanting to start bringing the series to a close, but I know there's still (at least) 5 books after this one. Don't know what the fuck will happen next.

It's happened in every book, but Bash's method of 'learning everything' before resetting simply wouldn't work. Like, in one instance that just occurred, it literally says he asked hundreds of questions. No one would sit there and answer hundreds of questions. They'd be like what the fuck is wrong with you after the tenth. There could be subtle ways of learning things, but this author is too lazy to write it better.

I get that the main girls are all at the point where having sex with Bash is more of a casual thing that they do often. Sure, no problem. But there's been way too many sex scenes that have been skipped over now. Over halfway through the book, there's only been 2 actual sex scenes, but like 8 or more other instances where there's mentions of sex having occurred. It's a lazy copout.

I know this was superfluous window dressing, but I'm going to comment on it anyways. This is a medieval feudal setting. Fantasy, sure, but still feudal. With that in mind, a town could not just vote to be transferred to a different duke. That makes no goddamn sense, and is not how things work. Maybe I'm wrong, though - maybe it will lead to some sort of conflict. It certainly should, at any rate.

I knew I was hoping in vain, because this author (and really this genre in general) seems to avoid older/mature women like the plague. But I was hoping that the innkeeper Torya would eventually be added to the harem. But no, they're going to pair her with forced friend #1 Jax. Lame.
Where are the authors that write about harems of exclusively mature women? I bet they could make a killing.

Among these poorly-written characters, Mahini is one of the best, so having a part of this book be spending time with just her is kind of nice.

There was a throwaway line about how Bash had a nice dream, but he was eager to wake up to reality, 'as real as a medieval fantasy realm can be, anyways.'" Knowing this author, it's just a nothing line not intended to be analyzed whatsoever, but that's such a weird notion to introduce. Within the confines of this story, everything that's happened is real... right? Should we be questioning the veracity of it?!

Doesn't feel like it's been almost 9 months since I read the last one of these.
