Nik and his friend Fyffe went undercover to go find Fyffe's little brother Sol. He had been taken by the Breken. Nik and his friend acted as rookie soldiers and were escorted by a real soldier, his name was Jeitan. As they were escorting into a crowd, they lost Jeitan. Now they are wandering around the streets looking for him.

Nik (the protagonist) and his friends camped out at a secret crypt so they could hide from the Breken (antagonists). Then, they escaped and found a car, but when they went to go over one of the bridges, they encountered Breken officers. Luckily, Nik knew some of the Breken language and managed to fool the officers into thinking that Nik and his friends were Breken scavengers.
