I think there are too many characters in this novel. I'll have to start a list to keep record.
And there have been moments where I find myself thinking "And why do I care what happens to Tom Builder and his son?". <spoiler>I didn´t like the preordained death of his wife, nor the following gratuitous sex scene with Ellen.</spoiler>
Maybe if I had not read so many "Cadfael" I would find this book more interesting.
