Oh joy. Fashionable Pronouns. I will miss this fad about as much as I miss bell bottom jeans and frosted tips.

This was another disappointment from Kingfisher. The more of her horror i read, the harder a time I have tolerating it. Liked "The Twisted Ones," felt let down by "The Hollow Places," and now I've simply endured "What Moves the Dead." And I can't help but think that here she's using today's whole Pronoun fad to cover for what is otherwise a very thin, very uninspired retread of a very tired trope.

Not enjoying this. It is too derivative, too twee, and FAR too modern despite its attempts at presenting an alternate fin-de-siecle Europe. What is happening is ENTIRELY too obvious and the "horror" elements are too few and far between -- it spent more time on pronouns and 21st century gender politics (again in what is supposed to be fin-de-siecle Europe) than on the location or the actual threat.
