This writing is seriously fantastic. David Foster Wallace isn’t a great fiction or non-fiction writer. He’s just a great writer point blank. His prose is able to describe in great detail settings that might just be banal to others, then dive into those settings in a humorous and philosophical manner. “Consider the Lobster” and the Tracy Austin chapter are masterpieces in short essays.

I’m reading this non-linearly since it’s a collection of non-fiction essays, but the two I’ve read have been super interesting and I highly recommend checking some of these essays out. I’m not sure if I will read them all, but I know I’ll enjoy them just from DFW’s writing style.
