about to write full paragraphs but basically and rlly unreliable narrators are only fun when they are hiding something from the audience something they refuse to accept or when the author twists information in a way that leaves room for common misinterpretation IM TIRED OF DRUNK UNRELIABLE NARRATORS + the suspecting everyone trope

ok hear me out the way to redeem this book would be to have casey be absolutely wrong and misinterpret the entire situation hence subverting the drunk unreliable narrator but in doing so she stumbles upon an actual grim mystery
